Welcome to our Website. We appreciate your business and in order to facilitate the buying process for you, we have provided an outline of our company policies below. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of this Website and the purchase of any products or services from us. By accessing the Website or placing an order, you agree to be legally bound by these terms.

‘Shrooms for Improvement reserves the right to change these ‘terms and conditions’ or any part thereof at any time and without notice. Please routinely read the entire agreement before each purchase to familiarize yourself with any changes.

  1. WEBSITE USER ACCOUNTS & PURCHASES

2.1 Age Requirement: By creating an account, buying and/or using any of the products on this Website, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and possess the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts and agree that it is at your sole risk.

2.2 Limitation of Liability

The founder, author and ‘Shrooms for Improvement or any of its affiliates accept neither personal or corporate liability nor responsibility to any person with respect to loss, accident,  injury or damage caused, or alleged to be caused, directly or indirectly by the use of any product/s or information contained on this website.

All information on this (and other Shrooms For Improvement linked sites or Social Media Apps) are  provided to the best of our knowledge, for educational purposes, and should not be construed as definitive or absolute fact. Any hyperlinks to other websites or references presented on this website do not necessarily constitute  an endorsement of the views expressed by the various authors, nor does it represent any affiliation with them. All information is presented for your reference and conversance. You access these websites solely at your own risk.

3.1 Medical Disclaimer: The Reishi, Cordyceps and Lion’s Mane extracts and Reishi, Cordyceps and Lion’s Mane dried mushrooms sold on this website are intended for use as functional foods / nutritional supplements. The grain spawn and ready to fruit kits are for Oyster Mushroom Cultivation.

Shroomsforimprovement.com  is an online store, specialising in legal mushroom products. Many of our products have reported health benefits. However, we are not medical professionals. Please consult with your health care practitioner or doctor if you are seeking medical advice. None of the information on this site may be construed as medical or health related advice.

The extracts and dried mushrooms are not intended to replace the support and assistance of your health practitioner. They have not been evaluated by the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) quality, safety or intended use and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition or disease. In general, if you are currently taking any medication, supplements or drugs, planning an operation in the near future, are diagnosed with any medical condition, trying to conceive or already pregnant or nursing; please check with your health practitioner about the appropriateness of the use of mushroom extracts for you.

3.2. Extracts. Shake the bottle before use. Please reseal the bottle carefully after use. Store in the refrigerator once opened.

3.3 Dried mushrooms. These must be stored sealed tightly in their resealable bag. It is advisable to place the sealed bag in an airtight container in a cool dry cupboard. Dried mushrooms have a pleasant, sweetish aroma and should be crispy when snapped. Never allow the contents to get damp. Discard if their appearance or odour changes from what they were on arrival.

3.4. Grain spawn and ready-to-fruit Oyster mushroom kits are live agricultural products. All our live mushroom products are inoculated and produced under sterile laboratory conditions. Our grow kits and grain spawn cultures are made to order and may take between 2–6 weeks to produce, depending on the season, species and availability. It is advised that you to use an overnight courier option for delivery for all ready to grow kits and grain spawn as these are living organisms and it is best to minimise all types of stress.

 Ensure that your packages, immediately upon receipt, are placed in a dry area, undisturbed, away from direct sunlight, wind, cooling or heating  source. Follow the enclosed instructions as soon as you receive them. Always use clean hands and utensils and work in a very clean, draught free area.

These products do not come with any guarantees in terms of their abilities to produce mushrooms, even though they have all been acquired as viable fruiting strains and we have fruited them successfully. The reason for this is that any number of factors can and do affect culture viability and fruiting ability and we cannot know what conditions they have been subjected to once they reach their new growing space.

You are expected to have set up a suitable grow area ready by the time your bulk grow kits arrive. Customers are expected to purchase bulk grain spawn only if they know how to use them. These do not come with any instructions on how they may be used to produce mushrooms. We only provide short term storage instructions such as the scientific name of the oyster mushroom and approximate temperature and other basic growth parameters for cultivation.  As much as we’d love to help you, we do not explain how to grow mushrooms on the phone, via e-mail or on WhatsApp. We do offer courses on several aspects of mushroom growing for the hobbyist or small enterprise, from time to time. We also gladly ‘tailor make’  classes to suit your specific needs. Please feel free to contact us about this.   1. PAYMENTS, SECURITY & PRICING

5.1 Currency: All prices on this Website are listed and processed in South African Rand (ZAR).

5.2 Payment: Currently, Online payments can be made directly into our bank account; the details of which will be provided on checkout. Soon, they will be securely processed via an integrated payment gateway partner and supported payment methods will expand to include Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard), Instant EFT, and electronic wallets. All to be made available at checkout.

5.3 Data Security: We do not capture, store, or have access to your raw credit card numbers or sensitive financial profiles. All transactional interfaces are secured via 3D-Secure fraud monitoring channels, PCI-DSS compliant protocols, and advanced encryption systems managed independently by the payment gateway..

  1. SHIPPING & DELIVERY LOGISTICS

6.1 Courier Partner: All local deliveries are dispatched via our designated third-party courier partner, The Courier Guy. We ship across South Africa only and do not deliver to P.O. Box addresses. Please provide an accurate physical address.

6.2 Delivery Timeframes: Once payment has cleared and your order is fulfilled, typical delivery timeframes are 1 to 3 business days for main metropolitan areas (such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban) and 3 to 5 business days for regional or outlying areas. These timelines are estimates and may be subject to operational courier delays.

6.3 Tracking: A tracking number from The Courier Guy will be sent via WhatsApp, SMS or emailed to you as soon as your parcel is collected from our facility, allowing you to follow its transit progress.

6.4 Transfer of Risk: Risk of loss or damage to any items transfers to the buyer upon successful physical delivery to the checkout address provided.

  1. CANCELLATIONS, CLASSES, AND REFUND POLICY

7.1 Extracts and Perishables: Due to the consumable, hygienic, and perishable nature of functional mushroom extracts, dried mushrooms, grain spawn, and fruiting kits, we do not accept general “change of mind” returns or offer discretionary refunds on these products.

7.2 Merchant Error Framework: We accept returns and authorize refunds or replacements only if the error originated on our end (e.g., we dispatched an incorrect product, an incorrect volume, or a fundamentally defective item). You must report any such errors to our support email address with photographic evidence within 48 hours of courier delivery.

7.3 Cultivation Classes: Bookings for educational classes may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 1 week (7 days) before the scheduled class date for a full refund or date swap. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 1 week prior to the class are strictly non-refundable. You may donate your seat to another individual or attend a future class at a mutually suitable time provided you have our prior email consent.

7.4 ECTA Exceptions: In alignment with Section 42(2) of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA), the standard 7-day cooling-off cancellation right does not apply to fresh/perishable agricultural goods or services that have been scheduled/executed.

7.5 Processing Approved Refunds: Verified refunds are executed exclusively through the payment gateway merchant dashboard back to the original funding source or through the payment method used during checkout. Alternative pay-outs or cash transfers are prohibited under anti-money laundering and anti-fraud regulations. Banking reflections may take 2 to 7 business days depending on your banking institution.

These terms are governed exclusively by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising herein will be resolved within the jurisdiction of South African courts.
