DRIED REISHI (GANODERMA)

Out of stock

All of our mushrooms are air-dried on-site using a commercial low-temperature drier. This gently removes moisture while fully preserving the beneficial compounds within the fruiting bodies. Because whole dried Reishi is very tough and difficult to slice at home, we offer Reishi in a shredded form.

Always consult your primary healthcare physician before adding Reishi to your routine, especially if you have an existing medical condition or take chronic medication. Always start with a minimal amount to test your body’s response to the product. If you experience any adverse effects, stop consumption immediately and consult your healthcare specialist if need be.

Description

DESCRIPTION: All of our mushrooms are air-dried on-site using a commercial low-temperature drier. This gently removes moisture while fully preserving the beneficial compounds within the fruiting bodies. Because whole dried Reishi is very tough and difficult to slice at home, we offer Reishi in a shredded form.

HISTORICAL USE: Reishi has a bitter flavour profile and is generally not suitable for culinary dishes. It is best enjoyed as a brewed tea. Never consume Reishi raw. Considered a potent adaptogen in Traditional Chinese Medicine; Reishi tea is thought to calm an overactive mind, balance cortisol, and lower stress. By promoting a relaxed state, it is believed to improve mood and sleep quality, making it a popular beverage before bed.In terms of mass, 100g of dried Reishi is equivalent to 700g of fresh Reishi.

BREWING INSTRUCTIONS FOR TEA:

  • Simmer: Add one teaspoon of shredded Reishi to about 250 ml boiling water, reduce heat to allow  the Reishi pieces to simmer covered for 15 -30 minutes. The longer it simmers, the more bitter the taste.
  • Strain: Pour the liquid through a strainer into your cup.
  • Enhance: Sweeten if desired.
  • Reuse: You can re-boil the same pieces several times until the flavour fades. Store the used pieces in the fridge at 4°C for a day or 2.

STORAGE: To maintain freshness over the long term, keep the bag of dried mushrooms sealed tightly in their original resealable bag and store them in a cool, dry place.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION & PRECAUTIONS: While Reishi mushroom has a long history of traditional use and is generally regarded as safe in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Western scientific research on its safety, especially its interactions with pharmaceuticals and / or other substances is still evolving. It is not advisable to use for self-medication.
